Opening of M6, 3.5 hrs to Renvyle

The M6 to Galway has shortend the journey to Galway to 2 hours and as a result, shortened the journey to Renvyle, Connemara to 3.5 hours.

The final section of the M6 Galway to Dublin motorway opened on Friday 18th December, 2009:

The €427m project is expected to cut travel times between the two cites dramatically.Motorists will now be able to bypass Ballinasloe, Loughrea, Craughwell, and Oranmore, making the M6 the first full city-to-city motorway in Ireland.
