WONDERFUL STAFF AND FOOD.
Richard Hill on 19-Jun-2014:
It is a lovely, old and traditional hotel in a delightful location. The room was very comfortable and the staff efficient and helpful. The grounds are extensive and make a great adjunct to the hotel. Improvements and repairs are evidently still underway after some severe storm damage a few years ago. In the vicinity there is a marvellous drive around the peninsular and the Connemara Loop - the surrounding country is very attractive.

Had a very enjoyable weekend at Renvyle House, beautiful dinner and wine and one of the best hotel breakfasts! Lively bar on the Friday night with good music and plenty of interaction from the other guests! Very relaxing, friendly staff. Would highly recommend!

We were enjoying our stay at the guesthouse very much - location, hospitality food. Fabulous ! The rooms esp. the bathrooms could use a soft renovation.
Sharon McGuire on 10-Jun-2014:

Hi, we had a lovely time. Hotel was very relaxing for kids and adults alike. Kids called it a "house" hotel because it was like staying in a home! Jane Use my first name only please

I loved this very comfortable and beautifully situated hotel. The food and service are absolutely excellent, communication is uncomplicated and the atmosphere is pleasantly unsnobby. It was a big plus that I could take my dog.

This hotel has been here for many decades, but has been kept up to date very well, while still maintaining a sense of its history everywhere you turn. Food in the dining room was gourmet-plus for breakfast and dinner, served by an attentive and friendly staff. The pub offered snacks and smaller dishes all afternoon. Our room, including the bathroom, was first-class. If stairs are an issue for you, know that the entire facility is at ground-floor level, including some rooms.
Philip Grout on 28-May-2014:
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay (and your staff). Will be coming back. Perhaps expand the bar menu? We stayed in one of the old staff rooms and it was relatively basic for such a classy hotel. Didn't worry us one bit and very convenient for passing fishing rods through window. Regard to all and thank you Philip Grout

This hotel is in an absolutely beautiful location with lovely grounds. The hotel building itself is full of old school charm with loads of character. It's relaxed and very comfortable. Breakfast is great and staff are very nice and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again (and this visit wasn't my first stay in any case).

Beautiful location, very clean and comfortable hotel room, and friendly and competent bar and restaurant staff. The peat logs used in the lobby fireplaces added a pleasant ambience. Would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

Hotel Guest on 18-Apr-2014:
On our arrival the receptionist was very welcoming which was lovely. Because we were staying for 5 days she gave us a room with view of the sea which really made the holiday. Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful especially in the dining room. The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent staff. Excellent food. Great location. Stayed 21-23 March for a murder mystery weekend package. Great fun. Nothing was a bother for staff making a good weekend very enjoyable. We ate like kings slept like babies and made new friends. Can't wait to return for another weekend.

Why have hotels stopped using toast racks? I hate soggy toast! Why use those large black pepper grinders--- I want an individual pepper grinder on my table --- I want to add what I need , not what the waiter thinks I should have. Pet gripes aside, we had a most enjoyable stay. Food was delicious and the staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. I had been wanting to visit for donkey's years. We were so sorry to see how much storm damage you suffered.

Breakfast didn't start until 8.30 am which could delay one's travel plans.

We had a fabulous time as always! the staff are just so good and thoughtful and always remember us on our trips to Renvyle as we got married there in 2012. The food was delicious and the atmosphere so relaxing - I highly recommend a trip to Renvyle House.

The Staff in the hotel are very friendly from the top to the bottom, which is refreshing. There is a family feel to the place. For anyone who likes old world charm i would recommend Renvyle. Clean rooms and fresh sheet, coupled with a lovely dinner and breakfast. I wouldn't look anywhere else in this area. Ronan

William White on 24-Feb-2014:
sadly we had to cancel our visit due to the extremely severe weather conditions and the fact that we couldn't leave the house here in case of further problems. However the staff were most accommodating about it and made us feel we would definitely like to rebook for another time.

We had a wonderful stay in Renvyle House Hotel over the Christmas period . From the minute we arrived we had wonderful service from very friendly staff. The food was amazing at dinner. We were a party of 6 people and all of us really enjoyed our stay. We will be back.
Lorraine Carlile on 4-Jan-2014:
Stayed here for one night only with friends. They were booked in for two and we were so jealous leaving them. Renvyle is like staying with family only better, huge living areas with turf fires, comfy couches, lovely bar, and fantastic great value food. Huge surprise in the morning to see the amazing view from our room. Forget 5 star luxury and embrace cosy stress free living. Renvyle is a gem, we can't wait to return. If you are thinking about booking, do it and for two nights at least. You won't regret it.
Chris Dunabin on 27-Nov-2013:
Taken as a whole we had an excellent time at Renvyle House (4-day stay in mid-November): a very welcoming atmosphere in a fascinating historic building, interesting art collection, good food and very helpful staff. Just a few corners of the building, eg the Library, need some attention. And we'd like to have been told in advance how meals were charged for.
Sinéad O'Neill on 24-Nov-2013:

Hotel Guest on 6-Nov-2013:
This was our first visit to Renvyle as a couple and we now looking forward to returning there with our children. It's definitely a unique and very memorable place. We left there totally refreshed.
Margaret Broderick on 1-Nov-2013:
It was stress free and peaceful with wonderful food and lovely staff. Everything anyone could want for a relaxing break. Will definitely be back in 2014. Open fires and cosy sitting rooms. Table quiz great fun also!
James Watt on 22-Oct-2013:
Food was excellent. Young lady from somewhere in Asia who has worked for you for many years was excellent in all respects. She is genuinely nice and very efficient. Housekeeping was great. Reception folks could be a bit more pleasant and helpful. Some appeared indifferent and did not want to be at Renvyle. Nonetheless we have stayed at Renvyle many times and will continue to do so. The CEO or manager (Ronnie) is fantastic in all respects.
Hotel Guest on 16-Oct-2013:

The most wonderful place to stay! Lovely staff - nothing too much trouble it feels like a big cosy blanket around you when you arrive at Renvyle. Enjoyed it so much for a 3 day stay that I provisionally booked again for a couple of weeks later but due to family commitments had to cancel. I can't wait to go back again sometime soon! Rooms lovely clean and such comfortable beds. Food is of the very highest standard with so many options to choose from. Big plus for me was it is a very dog friendly place to stay. Absoloutely wonderful!
Linda Harmes on 6-Sep-2013:
Hotel, Staff, Food, Location don't know what to put at top of list as all first class !
Hotel Guest on 2-Sep-2013:
Very good welcome, nice facilities, clean and sufficient bedrooms (the B&B ones), pet friendly, beautiful surroundings, highly recommended for chilling week-ends or a week for discovering or enjoying Connemara. Only minor issue: waiting queue for the restaurant, very long, and not enough big area to make people wait (we had to wander around as we couldn't find any seat).
Hotel Guest on 31-Aug-2013:

Some wonderful days with excellent food and a unique atmosphere in the most beautifull spot of the world. The amazing friendly staff and the evenings beside the turffire made me feel real home. Thank you all!!
Frank Downes on 19-Apr-2013:
I had a wonderful yet very brief stay. The smell of the turf fires on arrival; then being able to sit and read later in the evening was a great plus. The cuisine was exceptional and the gourmet dinner was worth its weight. Renvyle's biggest asset is its personnel and I have to say they looked after me exceptionally well. Added to this Ronnie was on hand to greet people thus making the whole expereince very personal. One night is far too short so awaiting my next oppurutnity to get to Renvyle. Many thanks to all!
Anne Walsh on 17-Apr-2013:
Renvyle House was beautiful, I wish I stayed longer than one night. I look forward to coming back for longer in warmer weather one day
